Commercial Fence Repair: Close the Gap, Then Decide on the Rest

A hole in a commercial fence is a security problem today. We close it, then report on whether the rest of the line is worth keeping.

Repairs to Commercial Fence

Most commercial repair calls are one of three things: a vehicle has hit the fence, someone has cut through it, or a gate has stopped working. Each one leaves the property open until it is fixed.

New installation and replacement are the main part of our commercial work. We also repair commercial fence across the Charlotte metro when the damage is limited and the fence around it is sound.

What We Repair

  • Bent or snapped line posts and terminal posts, reset in new concrete.
  • Crushed top rail and bent framework after a vehicle strike.
  • Cut or torn chain link fabric, replaced by the section and re-tensioned.
  • Damaged ornamental steel or aluminum panels.
  • Broken boards and frames on wood screening fence and dumpster enclosures.
  • Swing and sliding gates that sag, bind or will not latch, including hinges, rollers and latches.

When a Repair Is the Wrong Spend

Repair is the right call when the damage has a clear cause and clear edges: one corner hit by a truck, one section cut. It is the wrong call when the damage is a symptom. If posts are rusting through at the ground along the whole line, the section that just fell over is only the first. If the same enclosure gate has been re-hung three times, the gate or its posts are undersized for the job.

In those cases we will price the repair you asked for and also tell you what a commercial fence replacement of the affected run would involve, so you can compare the two. Replacing a failing run once usually costs less than repairing it section by section over several years.

Matching can limit a repair as well. New galvanized fabric is brighter than weathered fabric, coated mesh fades, and some ornamental panel profiles are discontinued. We tell you how visible the repair will be before you approve it.

After a Vehicle Hit or Break-In

Photograph the damage before anything is moved, and keep any police or incident report number. If another party or an insurer is paying, they will ask for both, and our written estimate can be submitted with the claim. Tell us if the opening has to be closed right away. Where a permanent repair needs ordered parts, the gap can be closed off temporarily in the meantime.

Commercial Fence Repair Questions

How quickly can a damaged commercial fence be secured?

Call (833) 691-3387 and tell us the opening has to be closed. Scheduling depends on the crew calendar and on what parts the repair needs. Where material has to be ordered, the gap can be closed temporarily first.

Can you repair a fence another company installed?

Yes. Most of the fence we repair was installed by someone else. We identify the system and match the framework size, fabric gauge or panel style as closely as current products allow.

Will you write an estimate I can send to an insurer or the at-fault party?

Yes. Estimates are written and itemized. Send us photos and the location, or ask for a site visit, and we will describe the damage and the repair in terms an adjuster can use.

Do you repair commercial gates and operators?

We repair gate frames, hinges, rollers, tracks and latches. Operator and control problems depend on the equipment involved. See gate repair and automatic gates.

When should a commercial fence be replaced instead of repaired?

When posts are failing along the line, when the fabric no longer holds tension, or when the same section keeps getting repaired. A fence in that state will keep generating repair calls. We give you both numbers so the decision is yours.
