Industrial Fencing: Security Perimeters for Charlotte Area Plants and Yards
Security chain link, toppings and vehicle gates for manufacturing plants, distribution yards, utilities and equipment lots across the Charlotte metro.
Industrial Fence Services
Industrial sites need a perimeter that stays closed. We build new perimeters, replace ones that have aged out, and repair damage when the rest of the line is sound.
- Industrial fence installation
New security perimeters, interior partitions and vehicle gates for plants and yards.
- Industrial fence replacement
Old perimeter removed and rebuilt in sections so the site is never left open.
- Industrial fence repair
Breaches, vehicle strikes and gate failures closed up on a sound fence line.
What an Industrial Perimeter Is Made Of
Nearly every industrial fence around Charlotte is chain link, because nothing else covers that much ground with that much strength for the money. What changes from site to site is the weight of the framework, the height, what goes on top, and how the gates work.
- Fabric: galvanized chain link in a heavier wire than residential mesh, or black vinyl coated where the fence faces a road.
- Framework: larger, heavier-wall posts and rails, with braced and trussed terminal posts at every corner, end and gate.
- Bottom: tension wire or bottom rail so the fabric cannot be lifted.
- Top: barbed wire on extension arms or razor wire coils, where the zoning district permits them.
- Screening: privacy slats to keep stored material out of view.
- Gates: double swing gates for smaller openings and cantilever sliding gates for truck entrances.
Where Industrial Fence Goes
We fence manufacturing plants, warehouses and distribution centers, contractor and equipment yards, utility sites, and outdoor storage. Inside buildings we install chain link partitions and cages that separate inventory, tools or tenant space.
Charlotte sits at the crossing of two interstates, and the corridors along them through Mecklenburg, Gaston, Cabarrus and York counties are lined with industrial parks. Many of those sites were graded flat out of sloping clay, so the perimeter often runs along cut banks and fill slopes where post depth and drainage decide how long the fence stays plumb.
How We Approach an Industrial Job
We start with what the fence is protecting and who has to get through it. That sets the height, the topping, and the number and type of gates. We price from site drawings or a walk of the perimeter, and the written estimate lists the framework sizes and fabric so it can be compared against a specification. Free estimates apply to industrial work as they do to everything else we quote.
Rules on height and on barbed or razor wire come from local zoning and vary by district and jurisdiction. Confirm what your site is allowed before the order is placed.

Industrial Fencing Questions
What kind of fence is used for industrial security?
Tall galvanized chain link on heavy framework is the standard. It is usually finished with tension wire or rail at the bottom and, where zoning permits, barbed wire or razor wire at the top. Gates are framed and braced to match.
How tall can an industrial fence be?
We install security fence well above residential heights. The height your site is allowed, and whether barbed or razor wire may be added, is set by local zoning and differs between districts and jurisdictions. Confirm it with the zoning office before ordering.
Do you install gates for tractor-trailer entrances?
Yes. Wide truck entrances are usually closed with a cantilever sliding gate, which has no track on the ground to fill with gravel. Operators and entry controls can be added. See access control.
Can you build fence partitions inside a warehouse?
Yes. We install chain link partitions and gated cages inside buildings to separate inventory, tools or tenant areas. Posts are anchored to the slab instead of set in the ground.
Do you replace existing industrial fence?
Yes. Industrial fence replacement is done in sections so the perimeter is closed at the end of every working day.
